Chennai: The SERC InSolare MoU was signed on February 16, 2026, marking a collaborative step toward strengthening India’s renewable energy innovation ecosystem through scientific testing and engineering validation.
The agreement was formalized between CSIR – Structural Engineering Research Centre and InSolare Energy Limited to support the evaluation and validation of renewable energy technologies and structural systems.
The SERC InSolare MoU establishes a framework under which CSIR-SERC will provide testing, technical evaluation, validation, and analytical support to InSolare for its proprietary renewable energy technologies, systems, and structural components.
The collaboration will operate on a project-to-project basis to ensure rigorous scientific and engineering assessment of emerging innovations.

SERC InSolare MoU: Combining Industrial Innovation with Scientific Rigor
CSIR-SERC, a premier national laboratory under Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, is engaged in the analysis, design, and testing of structures and structural components.
Through continuous research and development initiatives, the institute develops indigenous technologies by leveraging India’s natural resources in structural engineering and multidisciplinary sciences.
Over the years, CSIR-SERC has generated numerous inventions, patents, formulations, and technical know-how that can be transferred to industry for commercial use and societal benefit.
The laboratory has also established advanced facilities and expertise in structural analysis, design, and testing.
The SERC InSolare MoU aims to extend these capabilities to renewable energy infrastructure and innovation.
This collaboration is expected to strengthen India’s renewable energy ecosystem by combining industrial innovation with scientific rigor.

The MoU was signed by Dr N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC, and Col. Pankaj Sharma, Vice President (R&D), InSolare.
The SERC InSolare MoU event was attended by Dr Ashutosh Barua, Assistant General Manager (R&D), InSolare; Dr K Sathish Kumar, Chief Scientist and Head, BKMD; Dr S Parivallal, Advisor (M) and Chief Scientist; Dr P Hari Krishna, Chief Scientist and Head, WEL; Dr Saptarshi Sasmal, Chief Scientist and Head, SMSL; Dr V Srinivas, Chief Scientist and Head, SHML; Dr M Keerthana, Principal Scientist; Dr Mohit Verma, Principal Scientist; Dr A Subbulakshmi, Senior Scientist; R D Sathish Kumar, Principal Technical Officer and Head, KRD; Chitra Sankaran, Principal Technical Officer; and R Soniya, Senior Technical Officer of CSIR-SERC.
